A familiarisation trip to Sardinia

From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. We received the warmest welcome from Paolo, the Sales Manager at Chia Laguna Resort, where we stayed throughout the trip.

Our first evening was spent enjoying a traditional Sardinian dinner, where we were introduced to some of the island’s most iconic dishes. I loved trying Pane Carasau, Sardinia’s famous paper-thin crispy flatbread, Fregula with fresh clams and mussels, and Seadas – a delicious fried pastry filled with melted cheese and drizzled with honey. We were lucky enough to enjoy these local specialities throughout the trip, and every meal was outstanding.

Paolo’s knowledge and passion for Sardinia really brought the destination to life. He shared fascinating stories about the island’s history and culture, and by the end of the trip we joked that we probably knew more about Sardinia than we do about the UK!

Day Two was dedicated to getting to know the resort in more detail. We explored the three hotels that make up Chia Laguna Resort and, although they’re all within easy walking distance of one another, the team whisked us around in golf carts, making the experience even more enjoyable. We were looked after by the lovely Giulia from the sales team, whose enthusiasm, warmth and genuine passion for the resort shone through during every visit.

Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia
The Conrad offers a luxury five-star experience with elegant rooms, beautiful event spaces and amazing views over the coastline. It is ideal for meetings, incentive groups and high-end corporate events where guests can enjoy both business and relaxation.

Curio Collection by Hilton
The Curio by Hilton offers a boutique luxury feel with incredible sea views and direct access to some of Sardinia’s most beautiful beaches. During our visit we enjoyed an amazing five-course lunch at Tuerredda Beach Restaurant, which is also available for private events and group dining. It truly felt like a very authentic Italian experience.

Chia Laguna Hotel Village
The Hotel Village offers a more relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for larger groups, conferences and incentive trips. With a wide range of facilities and easy access to the rest of the resort, it provides plenty of flexibility for different types of events.

One of the highlights of the trip was our private boat excursion. We cruised along Sardinia’s breathtaking coastline before stopping at a secluded beach, where we had time to relax and swim in the crystal-clear sea. It was one of those truly memorable experiences that will stay with us all long after the trip.

That evening, we enjoyed dinner at Rada di Nora, where we were once again treated to incredible Sardinian cuisine. There was an abundance of delicious food throughout our stay, but the fresh fish and seafood were particular standouts – and I’m still thinking about them now!

On our final day, we ventured into the surrounding countryside on a jeep safari, taking in even more of the island’s beautiful scenery. We rounded off the trip with one last dinner back at the resort, reflecting on what had been an unforgettable few days filled with fantastic hospitality, great company and plenty of inspiration.

What impressed me most was the hospitality shown by every member of the team. Everyone made us feel incredibly welcome, and nothing was ever too much trouble. It was also a great opportunity to spend time with fellow event professionals from other UK agencies, sharing ideas and experiences while getting to know such a beautiful part of Sardinia.
