Hippo’s
Solution
After conducting an extensive venue find, Hippo proposed the INNSIDE by Melia Manchester Hotel. We negotiated some fantastic rates on bedrooms and meeting space, giving the client a feeling of exclusivity at the hotel. When coupled with the fact that Melia Hotels Intl. was recently named the most sustainable hotel company in the world, the venue became an obvious choice.
Providing full end-to-end event project management, we supported our client in organising all elements of the event, leaving the client to focus on their agenda, speakers and internal stakeholders, whilst knowing the event was in safe hands.
Our day-to-day tasks included; liaising with the venue, sourcing, negotiating and managing suppliers for audio visual, transportation, caterers and external venues etc., logistics planning, food and beverage, contract and bill handling, budgeting, on-site delivery and post-event reconciliation – to name a few!
With the requirement of an off-site Gala Dinner, Hippo organised for the group to dine at James Martin Manchester, a nearby venue within walking distance from the hotel. The evening provided the attendees with a true night to remember.
With sustainability at the forefront, external caterers, The Open Kitchen, were brought in to provide lunch. The Open Kitchen work with a range of food businesses to stop good food from being wasted, and also purchase ingredients, working only with local, sustainable, and ethical suppliers. The carbon footprint of the event was also calculated by our client, and later offset to produce a carbon neutral event.
